The Island
Isla Canela is located in a tranquil and unspoiled area of the Costa de la Luz on the western part of the Andalucian coastline facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is a natural island connected by a road bridge to Ayamonte in the province of Huelva.
Costa de la Luz, the Coast of Light, is a unique and beautiful area of Spain. It is largely untouched and has been spared the mass exploitation that many other coastal areas of Spain have suffered. Costa de la Luz is the area of Spain that more discerning holiday- makers turn to. There is only the natural beauty and peace of the area to explore. If you are looking for nightclubs, menus with pictures of food and stuffed donkeys this is not the place to find them.

Here the original culture and heritage of the local people is still very much present and is the home of large national parks and bird sanctuaries. Discover a warm and friendly countryside next to the glittering Atlantic, bathed in the light of the Spanish sun.

It is situated very close to the border of Portugal in an area also known as the Spanish Algarve. It shares the charms of both Spain and Portugal with all their advantages. It is a fantastic region for enjoying sun, beach, sailing, golf, cycling, culture, scenic nature reserves and bird sanctuaries. If you like bird and spectacular sunset watching, lazing on the terrace, walking on deserted beaches this place is a great secret.

This area is famous for the number of local artists, many of whom draw their motivation from the quality of the light in this part of Spain.

On the Island is a Golf course, vast fine sandy beaches, a modern marina, small commercial centres, restaurants and cafes. It is also home to a small fishing village as well as a large protected bird sanctuary.
