Isla
Canela beach has over 7km of fine golden sand and is the
perfect place to relax. The beach is flat with sand banks
making it ideal for children to play and it never gets
crowded.
Beach
facilities include showers, toilets, first aid, beach
bar / restaurants and water sports. In the high season
there is a local supermarket and bakery open. |

On
the Costa de la Luz you will find some of the most incredible
beaches in Spain, with whiter and finer sands than their
Mediterranean counterparts. Stretching almost the entire
coastline, the beaches are typically framed by sand dunes
and pine trees creating natural, rugged landscapes.
The beaches of Isla Canela are truly breathtaking. The island
boasts over 7 kilometres (5 miles) of fine sandy beach beside
the clean Atlantic Ocean. It is 40 metres wide on average,
a lot wider than most beaches on the other coasts of Spain.

The
gentle slope of the ocean floor and the sand banks just
off the coast ensure that the sea is always calm and safe
to swim in along the whole beach with just gentle surf and
never any big and dangerous waves.
The size of the beach and the careful development of the
residential resort with only a few select hotels also ensures
that there is plenty of space on the sand to enjoy sunbathing,
beach sports or just a walk along the shoreline without
throngs of holidaymakers competing for space. |

THE
BOWLING CLUB
For the bowls enthusiasts
Isla Canela offers a perfect hideaway. The local bowling club
is located next to the Isla Canela golf club. The club boasts
2 bowling greens, one of natural grass and the other artificial
turf. The natural green has been made to the requirements of the
English and Spanish Bowling Federation.
The
golf clubhouse offers a specialised shop as well as changing room
facilities. The lounge bar can provide you with those nerve steadying
drinks and the restaurant serves traditional Andalucian cuisine,
with a terrace where you can relax and enjoy the sun.

FOOTBALL
FIELDS
Football
fans might want to visit the two local regulation size football
fields located within the perimeter of the golf course. The facilities
are first class and are available for hire at 150 euros.
You might just see a few professional stars gracing these fields,
as Real Betis are among the teams to have previously used the
facilities as a training camp! You never know, you could be sharing
the island with some of footballs top names. |
|
OTHER
BALL SPORTS
For
those who feel a little more energetic, you may be tempted by
the local sports centre which is located behind the marina. Activities
there include tennis, basketball, 5 a side football and paddle
tennis (a Spanish racket sport).
Of
course with so much pleasant sunshine and mild weather throughout
the year, the only limits when it comes to sport are your own
preferences. There is certainly something for every one at Isla
Canela. |
